Choosing Happy

"Life is like a piano... the white keys represent happiness and the black show sadness. As you go through life's journey, remember that the black keys also create music."
A lot of times in life I think we simply forget to be happy. The things that happen in our lives certainly effect our emotions and our state of being but ultimately happiness is a choice we make. In the saddest of all events, our most embarrassing moments, and the scariest places we could imagine happiness is a choice. Think about it... No matter how long it takes you to overcome something you still eventually have to make a choice to move forward and be happy.

The worst times of our lives can often be the greatest of blessings once we overcome them. :) Sadness often becomes strength, anger allows us to see ourselves at our worst and gives a place to turn from, and the scariest things we encounter make us brave.

Even if they haven't been terrible or life changing... think of the worst moments in your life.. times when you lost, times when you had no idea what would come next, times when you didn't know how to move on... and then think of where you are now. What made that difference? Blessings tend to flow at the moments we need them most and often an abundance of them... even if at first they come in disguise.

Give it time. Pray. Listen to the people who want to help you and let them help you. Don't be afraid to let someone do something nice for you. Ask for help. Never feel guilty for being on the receiving end of kindness. Choose happy. Move on. Don't give up. Let yourself cry. Lean on a friend. Wait on the Lord. Live richly. Love greatly. Let go. BE HAPPY.

CHOOSE HAPPY
because regardless of how seemingly hard our lives are.. we all have so much to be thankful for.

  1. This is so true. I know some of my saddest, most embarrassing times still make me cringe. But I also learned long-lasting lessons from those experiences. Thank you for reminding me to be thankful.

  2. That's exactly it... we are always learning something. The more we allow ourselves to see the good in the bad the more we will take away from any situation. :)
